Congratulations to Bancroft Memorial Library’s Youth Services Librarian, Laura Brillant-Giangrande, on receiving the Celebrate Literacy Award from the Nobscot Reading Council in recognition of her outstanding dedication to promoting literacy and enriching the lives of Hopedale’s children and families.
The award celebration featured a special presentation by David A. Kelly, author of the popular Ballpark Mysteries and Football Mysteries series.
Since joining the library in 2023, Laura has significantly expanded youth programming and community outreach efforts, helping to drive a remarkable 42% increase in Children’s Room circulation while strengthening the library’s role as a vital community resource.
Library Director Keely Bethel-Penny said, “Laura’s passion, creativity, and commitment to our children and families have made an incredible impact on our community. Her work has helped make the library a welcoming, engaging, and inspiring place for young readers, and we are so fortunate to have her serving Hopedale,” said Library Director Keely Bethel-Penny, who thanked Brillant-Giangrande for all she does “to inspire a love of reading and learning in our community.”
