Curbside pickup is available! It is quick and easy. Call us at 508-634-2209, email us at [email protected] with your requests, or use our online form found on our webpage. Please call us if you have any questions. Currently, only Bancroft Memorial Library materials are available.

Laptops on the Lawn
Keep a lookout for Laptops on the Lawn on our library webpage! Patrons will have the opportunity to use the laptops and print on the lawn in front of the library.

Books on CD are available at Bancroft Memorial Library. We have many new titles by popular authors David Baldacci, John Grisham, Chris Bohjalian, and Sue Monk Kidd just to name a few. Would you like to search the catalog and browse just the books on CD? Here’s how………
Go to the Hopedale website – click Library – click Catalog – click Browse Catalog
Choose Advanced Search – click Numeric Search Tab. In the Field box do dropdown and choose Call Number (Shelf Browse). In Identifier box type CDBK A.
Make sure the Search Library box is set for Hopedale
Click Search and….. like magic you can relax and see the books on CD available to you in our library.
Browse, then order your favorite book for the ride! You can do the same with DVDs. In Identifier box type DVD A. Enjoy shopping!

The Helen Symonds Book Group hopes to be able to meet again on September 9. Books to be discussed in the Fall will be posted in August. Stay safe, enjoy the summer and keep reading!
News from the Marjorie Hattersley Children’s Room
Summer Reading Registration 2020
This summer the Bancroft Memorial Library will be participating in the FIRST LADY OF THE COMMONWEALTH, LAUREN BAKER, AND THE BRUINS BLADES SUMMER CHALLENGE. The goal is to read books you ENJOY and HAVE FUN WITH READING! The only requirement is that you read 4 hours per week to complete the program. When you complete the program, you become eligible for prizes. Easy!
Participants of any age are welcome. Please fill out one form for each participant on the library’s webpage, under “Children’s Department”. The program runs from June 29 - August 7. Mrs. Kraimer will contact you to schedule a pick-up time for the paperwork.
Virtual Summer
Programming
Summer programming is going virtual this year! Every week there will be fun programs offered online, including Mad Science, Wonderspark Puppets, Baby Sign, Mindfulness for Children, and many more. Please check our webpage and Facebook page for the calendar and sign-up information.
Virtual PJ Storytime
with Mrs. Kraimer
From July 1st through August 5th, join us on Facebook for a bedtime story with Mrs. Kraimer on Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm. Children will be able to pick up the accompanying craft on Wednesday evenings or Thursdays.
Females in STEAM
Book Group
Want to read more about notable women in STEAM? Join this book group facilitated by Nancy Verdolino, Reading Specialist at Memorial Elementary School in Hopedale, for virtual discussions of the selected books. This program is a partnership between the Memorial Elementary School, the Blackstone Valley Educational Foundation and the Bancroft Memorial Library. Participants will receive books. Students in grade 3 and above are eligible. Call the library to learn more and register for this program.
StoryWalk® at the Library
Enjoy the outdoors and reading at the same time with a StoryWalk®the week of July 13! Follow a children’s story as you walk around the outside of the library. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
Themed Book Bags
Available
Anyone looking for books for the kids but do not have specific titles may call Mrs. Kraimer and request a book bag to be picked up at curbside. Just let us know the age level (Beginning Reader, Picture Book, Juvenile, Young Adult) and the topics you would like (dinosaurs, pets, fairy tales, etc.). You can also request series (Magic Treehouse, American Girl, Wings of Fire, etc.).
Cooking Fun at Home
Join us for Cooking Fun at Home every Tuesday in July. Video instructions will be available on the library’s webpage, under “Children’s Department”, each week.
