On April 8, the Town of Hopedale hosted a solar eclipse viewing party on the Community House lawn where the Bancroft Memorial Library distributed 354 pairs of solar glasses and offered authentic moon pies as a special treat for the participants.

In addition, a clarinetist named “Sam,” who is a member of the Blackstone Valley Community Concert Band, provided an impromptu musical accompaniment to the eclipse that had captured the nation’s interest.
